We
commence
our
tour
across
the
mountainous
terrain
till
we
reach
Afzghar.
These
ridges
extends
to
the
west
in a
massive
rock
escarpment,
gradually
sloping
to
the
west,
after
30
km
distance,
to
Wan
Kaza
dunes,
to
form
a
marvelous
table
land,
rich
with
prehistoric
relics.

3 |
We
climb
the
highland
by
camel
in a

to
reach
at
the
end
of
the
day
Ein
Emlal
site,
we
explore
the
treasure,
of
this
charming
Sahara
world,
starting
from
rock
painting
until
we
reach
the
height
crest,
opening
to
the
blue
sky.
It
is a
Saharan
dream.

In
this
day
we
reach
the
ancient
site
of "Tshuenit"
with
its
many
rock
paintings,
before
reaching
the
massive
Tin
Khaligha
bridge,
standing
on
three
columns,
where
we
will
encamp.
Our
Tuareg
companion
will
show
us
how
to
bake
bread
on
embers,
and
above
all,
how
the
Tuareg
of
Libya
know
laughing
and
merriment
after
a
hard
day's
walk!

We
pass
"Adrar"
mountain
pas
to
take
our
lunch
on
the
hill
we
climb
down
to
take
the
minibus
to "Takerkiba",
where
we
find
our
second
team
of
camel.
The
camp
is
situated
at
the
foot
of
Ubari
impenetrable
grey
sand
dunes.

We
begin
our
second
part
of
our
tour
in
the
golden
sand
dunes.
We
arrive
in
Mahrough
a
dry
lake-oasis.
This
tour
will
take
three
days,
exploring
the
Saharan
sand
dunes
looking
for
oasis-lakes,
hidden
deep
in
sand
like
a
diamond
on a
gold
closet.

We
reach
our
destination
to
discover
one
of
the
most
wonderful
oasis-lakes
in
Libya,
Gabr
Oun.
The
Tuareg
use
its
highly
saline
water
to
treat
skin
diseases.
After
lunch,
we
arrive
to
Mafo,
the
chameleon
lake,
which
changes
color
with
seasons.
Bivouc
on
the
oasis-lake
mound,
before
an
unforg
ettable
spectacle:
Sunset
over
the
red
lale.

Always
accompanied
by
our
camel,
we
arrive
to
the
superb
oasis
of
Oum
Elma
"the
sea
of
water"
in
Arabic,
before
we
pitch
our
camp

the
heights
of
lake
Mandara.
Bonfire,
tea
and
chatting
with
our
cheerful
Tuareg
friends.
All
senses
wake.

end
