THE GREAT TOUR TO FEZAN
18 days, 9 half-days marching
This is considered an exceptional itinerary across Libya. This course do not leave out any undiscovered treasure, where we discover it all! Thanks to the amble tour time, we can stop at secretive and wonderful Ghadames, before we cross the Hammada Al Hamra to the rock ridges forest of "Maghtaghat" on "Maghdit" highland, and finally to the Akakous mountains, with its numerous rock painting, and rock engravings in "Matkhandoush", vast seas of the golden sand dunes of Murzog and Ubari, encompassing fascinating lakes. We end our tour with visiting Greek-Roman monuments in Sebratha, and Leptus Magna on the Med. Coast ……. At last we can take a long and deep breath after this certainly long and delightful tour!

Itinerary
 

Day 1 Air trip to Tripoli. Reception in the airport, and transport to a town center hotel.
 - Transport: Minbus
 - Accommodation: Hotel
   
Day 2 Departure to the "Nafousa" mountain. Visit to Gaser Elhag and Nalut Berber villages. Dinner and resuming the trip to Ghadames. Accommodation in an conventional Berber house in the village.
Transportation by Mini bus.
   
Day 3 We explore Ghadames and the Museum, then move to the desert. Taking supper and encampment in the heart of the Hammada El Hamara, Now we are in "Ein Tifas queen".

Day 4, 5 We pass Erg Edhan "Tin ghert" composed of desert gravel until we reach "Benghish" on the food of the sand Dunes, and then to "Tighirin". The first strip of Ubari sand dunes appear in the form of sand capes dotting the plateau. This trip is long but necessary to reach Maghidt.

Day 6 We directly move to the south until we reach "Tabinkort", where we take supper, before we begin to cross Erg Ubari in this days tour to reach "Ighrim Nodadin" Goats, village, where we pitch our camp.

Day 7 We explore the plateau and the hard outcrops of "Maghdit" and "Maghtighat", magnificently looking, as if implanted in the sand Dunes. We rest for a while, to enjoy supper, and to pitch our camp amidst this catching sight.

Day  8 We reach the "Eiwenat", take supper and shower. Then we proceed to the other desert, Tadrarat Akakous desert. We explore the rock column standing on a solitary rock standing on a solitary rock mass, known as "Adad", which means "Finger" in Tamsheq language – we encamp in the catching antiquity site of "Oes".

Day  9 Marching across a predetermined route, we reach the white plain know as "Agagar Milan", taking our lunch, surrounded on every side by black rock cliffs, and exploring ancient caves of "Tin Sheikh" and "Tin Anuan", abundant with ancient rock engravings. We encamp in the great "Pitshnweit" valley, to where a hundred small tributary valleys flowed. Many tours to explore rock painting.

Day  10 We end our tour for this day at "Tshnweit" region before we reach by car the reat Atzgar ridge crossing, where we encamp.
It is a delightful place for spending a lively night with the Tuareg shanting their gay songs.

Day  11 Exploring ancient sites of "Anshal" and "Tanshalt Ein Emlal". We depart at the end of the day in an Easterly direction to spent the night in a camp pitched on "Wan Kaza" sand dunes.

Day  12 We cross the "Abahoha" mountain pass, extending over the "Messak sitafet" plain (Black Blateau). We spend the night in the middle of lofty and spectacular sand dunes overshadowing Murzok Erg.

Day  13 We discover the ancient site of Ein "Ghalgiwan" (Cows valley), and the famous wild animal rock engraving at "Matakhndush". We encamp at Edhan Morzuk.
 - Walking hours: 2-3 hours

Day  14 Having crossed Aberho region (Bargoug), we reach the ancient Germantes capital of Germa. We visit the Garmmentes tombs, and the small museum, before we reach the vast Ubari sea.

Day  15 In this day we explore on rapid vehicles, navigating the vast sands, to the lakes hidden in the heart of Ubari sand dupes, like pearls or jewels endowed by Earth to the desert. Having visited the Mandra dry lake, and the blue pearl of Umm Alma, we visit Mfao (Chamelon) lake, and finally to Gaber oun. At the end of the day, we reach Sebha by air, through Tripoli airport.

Day  16 Dedicated to visit the ancient Phoenician-Roman site of Sebratha, before visiting Tripoli city, its market and the National Antiquity Museum.

Day  17 Visit to the Great Roman city of Leptus Magna, which was founded by the Phoenicians in the 4th century B.C. After lunch, we visit the ancient sand covered amphitheater. Return to Tripoli.

Day  18 Departure from Tripoli


Under operational conditions, the tour guide may modify this program, for yours and the group security. The air connection between Tripoli and Sebha may sometimes journey retards and annulment, without notice.
